Ludwig have produced metal snare drums before during their long history, but the LC661 Copperphonic is something special. It has a shell made of copper just like a timpani while its design is based on the well-known Supraphonic model. Ludwig’s Imperial Lugs are responsible for keeping the drum head securely in place. The Copperphonic produces a warm, dry sound that is similar to a wooden snare drum.

The Ludwig LC661 has a diameter of 14 inches and a depth of 5 inches. The copper is 1.2 mm thick and has a natural layer of patina. The shell is equipped with 10 lugs. With a very sensitive and fast response, the Copperphonic is suitable for drummers and orchestra percussionists.
