The first thing to strike you about the 5-string Skyline 55-02 Custom White Maple is the tight tone of the low B and the exacting sonic balance offered by the body and electronics. The great feel of the B-string has a lot to do with the 35-inch scale length, and the outstanding balance is largely shaped by the ash body. At the bridge, a custom Lakland J pickup provides a modern edge and a solid bottom-end, while a custom Lakland MM adds everything from sweet trebles to a low-hanging, full-gain bass. Both pickups complete a superbly clean tone, free of any unwanted noise, that can be varied using the included blend, cut and boost controls.
