It doesn’t take a second look to realise that the 70-R is one of Cuenca’s show-pieces and, since the Spanish guitar builders used solid German spruce for the top and solid Indian rosewood for the back and sides, we’re dealing with an all-solid acoustic here. While the wood types used look great on their own, luxury gold-plated machine heads actually add an extra dimension of class to the appearance of this classical guitar. However, the Cuenca 70-R is more than just a pretty face and comes with a heart-warming voice because after all, that’s what it’s all about.

The Cuenca 70-R: Warm-Hearted
Even more so than with electric guitars, the types of wood used to build an acoustic guitar greatly determine its foundation sound. The German spruce top on the 70-R allows for a bit more volume compared to cedar, as well brighter highs and more dynamics when strumming the strings. The solid Indian rosewood used for the back and sides, on the other hand, lend this classical guitar a warm-hearted character when it comes to the lower frequencies for a well-balanced sound across the board.
