Bogner Amplification Goldfinger 54 Ph Amplification Goldfinger 54 Phi guitar amp head

Original price was: €2,750.00.Current price is: €1,990.00.

The Goldfinger 54 Phi guitar amp head by Bogner Amplification is reminiscent of the Bogner 45, as far as its preamp goes. However, this time around, they’ve added a few new interesting features. For instance, there’s the practical BAX EQ. This EQ switch allows you to alternate between the sound of a classic ’60s amp and a sound reminiscent of a ’50s amp. However, what makes this compact amp truly unique, is the ability to switch between two 6L6 power tubes and/or two 6V6 power tubes. You can use them combined or separately, and in both high or low power modes!

Goldfinger 54 Phi: high and low power functionality
What makes the Bogner Goldfinger 54 Phi especially interesting, is the ability two switch between different power amp modes to suit any given situation. If you’re practising in your living room or using the amp in your studio, then 9 Watts should be more than enough. When you’re performing live in a medium-sized venue, however, and you need a bit more power, then you can switch to the 27W mode, for instance. You can use up to 66 Watts of power, but no matter which setting you use, the amp will always deliver optimal performance. The advantage of the 6V6 tubes is that they sound rich and full, even at low volumes. The potential to tap into both types of tubes in any situation, however, is worth its weight in gold!

BAX EQ and boost circuits
Another of the Goldfinger Phi’s noteworthy features is the BAX EQ. This replaces superfluous lows with clean trebles, in order to keep a balanced EQ spectrum, giving you an articulate vintage sound at all times. Furthermore, the various boost circuits allow you to knead your sound into a shape that suits your preferences. This way, it’s easy to create a fatter sound with more mids, for instance, of a more British sound, using the boost control on the included foot switch. Combine this with a trimpot to further shape your sound to suit your style!
